Public infrastructure, open to the people who fund it.
Make infrastructure projects easier to understand through browser-based BIM views. Use the xeoVision framework to prepare selected project information for public participation or interdepartmental review, with access, source-file sharing and hosting suited to the intended audience.
Participation only works if people can open the file
Public consultation on a major infrastructure project traditionally means drawings, a printed visualization and a public meeting. Anyone who wants to understand the project properly needs software they do not have and training they were never offered.
A model that opens in a browser changes who can participate. The City of Zurich has published an account of using the xeokit technology for exactly this on xeokit.io.
Publishing without giving away the source files
Public visibility and file access are separate decisions, and for a public body they usually need different answers. A citizen should be able to explore the project; the authored IFC or RVT is another matter.
xeoVision treats those as two controls rather than one, so a project can be opened to the public while the source files stay restricted to the project team.
Hosting and procurement
Public-sector hosting requirements are usually specific, and often regional. xeoVision runs as a managed service, on dedicated infrastructure, or inside infrastructure you control, and the Data Engine can process files as a standalone binary within your own network — so the deployment can be shaped to the obligation rather than the other way round.
Because the xeokit SDK is open source under AGPL-3.0, with commercial licensing available from Creoox AG, the long-term dependency question that procurement always asks has a real answer.
Working across departments and consultants
The same platform serves the internal job: infrastructure projects run across departments, external engineers and contractors, all producing models in different formats. Federating those into one reviewable project is the everyday use, and the public view is a by-product of doing it well.
