Find the objects that matter.

Filter and group model objects by the information available in your project. Turn a complex BIM model into a focused view for the question at hand.

A large federated model contains far more than any single review needs. The useful question is never “show me everything” — it is “show me the objects that matter for this decision”.

Application workflows in the xeoVision framework filter information carried by your models: object type, storey, classification and property values. xeokit SDK provides the model view; for supported engineering files, xeokit Data Engine makes extracted properties available to the workflow. The result is a focused selection that you can inspect in context.

What you can filter on depends on how your models were authored and what the selected processor extracts. A geometry-only export does not supply the same information as an IFC model with structured properties.

Groups you create can be saved alongside the view, so a recurring review starts from the same selection every time.

Start with a federated project view, try it on a model in the browser-based BIM viewer, or use selected properties in a reporting and data workflow.

How it works

  1. 01 Choose the object information relevant to your task.
  2. 02 Filter the project and organize objects into useful groups.
  3. 03 Inspect the selected objects and their properties in context.

What can you filter BIM objects by?

Object type, storey, classification and property values carried by the models themselves. xeokit SDK provides the model view and, for supported engineering files, xeokit Data Engine makes the extracted properties available to the filtering workflow.

Why are some properties missing from the filters?

Because filtering can only use information the model actually carries. A geometry-only export does not supply the same data as an IFC model with structured property sets, and different processors extract different amounts. Check a representative file before relying on a particular property for a review.

Can you save a filtered selection for later?

Yes. Groups you create can be saved alongside the project view, so a recurring review opens with the same selection every time instead of being rebuilt by hand.
