BIM data processing: view, convert and download files in an online CAD & BIM viewer

Choose the components for the files your project uses. xeokit Data Engine prepares supported engineering formats; xeokit SDK loads supported web-ready models for browser viewing.

Which file formats does xeoVision open?

xeokit Data Engine processors prepare IFC (2x3, 4, 4.3), Revit RVT/RFA and STEP files for the browser. Each file is read once into JSON properties, GLB geometry and XKT models, so the viewer and your systems share the same data. Open IFC models in the online BIM viewer and RVT or RFA files in the Revit viewer.

Navisworks NWD, AVEVA E3D/PDMS and Bentley iModel processors are coming soon. Web-ready LAS, LAZ, OBJ, STL, GLB and XKT files open directly through xeokit SDK loaders.

Take your BIM data beyond the viewer

Extract project data: identifiers, classes, properties and quantities

xeokit Data Engine extracts identifiers, classifications, property sets and base quantities from IFC and Revit models as JSON. The xeoVision app exports the same data as an Excel (xlsx) file. Which fields appear depends on the source file and the processor used.

Export BIM data to Excel (xlsx) and JSON

Processing writes open formats, not a proprietary container. Your own systems can read the results without going back through xeoVision.

Model data

Excel (xlsx)
Exported from the xeoVision app
Object properties in a spreadsheet for takeoffs, cost plans, quick review and Power BI. Built from the xeokit Data Engine JSON.
JSON

Use project data in Power BI, ERP and AI workflows

Map the extracted fields and object identifiers to the records used by Power BI, an ERP or asset system, or an approved AI agent. That connection is scoped integration work Creoox or your partner can implement. It doesn’t require moving your reporting system into the viewer, and it isn’t a preconfigured connector included with every deployment.

That distinction matters commercially: because the outputs are open, the reporting workflow you build isn’t dependent on continuing to use this viewer.

Choose where processing and project data run, and agree the mapping, refresh process and access requirements through our BIM integration services.

How it works

  1. 1 Extract the project information you need.
  2. 2 Prepare and map the data for your chosen tool.
  3. 3 Use it for reporting, analysis or automation.

Example

Build a Power BI report from extracted object properties, or prepare project information for an AI workflow.

Questions about project data and export

What BIM data can you extract from IFC and Revit files, and can you export it to Excel?

Identifiers, classifications, property sets and base quantities, delivered as JSON by xeokit Data Engine. The xeoVision app builds an Excel (xlsx) file from that JSON. Which fields appear depends on the source file and the processor used, so check a representative model against your reporting requirements before committing to a data workflow.

Is there a ready-made Power BI connector?

No. The extraction produces open JSON outputs, and mapping those fields and object identifiers to Power BI, an asset system or an approved AI agent is scoped integration work that Creoox or your partner implements. It isn’t a preconfigured connector included with every deployment.

What happens to the reporting workflow if you stop using the viewer?

It keeps working. Because the extracted data is written to open outputs rather than held inside the viewer, the reporting you build on it doesn’t depend on continuing to use this application.

Not sure your format is covered?

Bring a file and a question. We’ll tell you what xeokit Data Engine does with it, and what it doesn’t.

  • A representative file in the format you receive
  • The model data you need from it
  • Where the result should go: Excel, JSON or your own system
